The Edinburgh Travel Clinic is part of Newington Pharmacy, which is an Independent Community Pharmacy, based in Edinburgh.

We who run the travel clinic are Community Pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) of Great Britain with a passion for Travel Health. More than half of the UK population that go abroad every year don’t get vaccinated when they should or receive up to date health advice for their destinations and activities. We aim to change that.

We are fully trained and then retrained every year, to provide a full range of travel vaccinations and antimalarials. We will always counsel you with the most up-to-date travel health advice you’ll need to stay safe and aware on your trip.

  Great service, friendly staff, especially Gebran! I was a bit nervous about the PCR test process (I don’t think anyone enjoys having a long swab up their nose), but his kindness and sense of humor resulted in me leaving the clinic laughing. I got the results the next day and the communication process was very smooth. They send you text messages and email reminders of your appointments and explain things clearly.   Amazing service from Newington Pharmacy. I looked around in finding a PCR test in order to travel, a lamp test/antigen test was not sufficient for my destination and I wanted peace of mind in having the test done on site and not having to worry about finding your own courier etc. I needed the test within 72 hours of travel. All of my requirements were met in a short turn around which made my experience completely stress free. I am so glad that I chose Newington this pharmacy, there is no messing about, really professional and so easy to book in an appointment, lovely staff, a simple quick process and efficient results. The test itself is completely fine for anyone apprehensive and it is over very quick, everything is explained concisely by staff.

My test was at 12:25pm and by 9:30am (the next morning) I had received an email from the lab stating that my sample was received and undergoing testing.  At 2:30pm I received my results. This enabled me to travel this morning with no issues, as I was easily able to show proof of my test at numerous points when asked on my journey. I am really impressed, this is a service that you can count on in already stressful times when needing to travel. Well worth the money in getting it done on site if you're afraid you mightn't take the sample correctly etc. Thanks to all the team, a great service all round!

  DON'T GO TO THIS PHARMACY! I paid for a pcr test in this pharmacy  and  I realized after that it was the most expensive place in the whole Edinburgh. Boots at the Gyle Centre offers it for 120 and 80 if you do it at the Airport. But that's not the only thing I want you to be aware be of. My PCR results did'nt come on time which caused me many personal and proffesional issues. I called the telephone number on their website for covid-19 queries and the guy I spoke to on the phone only encouraged me to contact the lab which ended up ignoring me. I went to the Pharmacy to claim my money  and the manager didn't want to help. So, literally, I paid for a service that I didn't get. They stole my money.

I understand when it comes to money and you have a business that you use any excuse to get away with this matter. If by saying I paid  my money to you and you have to deal with this instead of me with the lab, then it is clear that you didn't want to help. You called the police and the police did not even show up. And if you got offended because I said I recognised your accent on the phone, the problem is on you. We all have an accent and a different way to speak   that is not offensive, it is a fact. I will take this further as you didn't get responsible for the service I bought from you

  There was an urgent need to travel and do the covid test. I called the dedicated line and I got all the information I needed on how to book a test so that I can do it at the pharmacy. I managed to book a test online quickly. The person who conducted the test was very courteous, very polite and answered all my questions.
